Air Baltic Business Class Review

We flew Business Class from Berlin to Riga direct with Air Baltic. There are 2 flights daily from Berlin Tegel Airport and it only takes 1.5 hours to reach beautiful Riga. Economy Class flights are available from 20 Euro. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

To make the best out of our 2 day stay we took the early morning flight from Berlin (08:50 AM) and luckily we were on Business Class so we had the most relaxing morning over the clouds. Since we only had a carry-on luggage (you are allowed 2 pieces of cabin luggage in Business Class) and already had printed our boarding passes we headed strait to the gate.

Once boarded the brand new CS 300 Bombardier aircraft I was instantly happy. It was one of those planes you really look forward spending time on. Brand new and shiny. The colors are very bright and the mood lightning gives the whole aircraft a futuristic touch. We were in row 1, which has the most leg space in Business Class, and the middle seat is left free for Business Class rows. So spacious and comfy.

With no delay we departed and shortly after takeoff enjoyed our coffee looking out of the big windows. They were really huge and when we were taking turns we had a panoramic view of the grounds below, just stunning!

Since it was an early flight, Breakfast was served. Portion and taste were very good. Also liked that the menu was inspired by traditional Latvian cuisine. After breakfast we had still time to relax a bit and go over our plans for the next two days in Riga. Overall a perfect start to an exciting weekend!

On the way back we took the last flight on Sunday evening (6:20 pm) from Riga International Airport. Since we we had access to the Business Class Lounge we arrived a bit earlier to check it out. Stepping out of the Taxi to reaching the Business Class Lounge took 10 minutes max, thanks to Fast Track access. So we had plenty of time to relax at the lounge and have some drinks and snacks. The lounge is big enough so it does not feel crowded. There is a selection of light snacks and a big selection of drinks, including a full fledged bar. I was especially happy to discover they had also Turkish Coffee :)

The aircraft on our way back was a Boeing 747, which, after the Bombardier CS 300, felt a bit worn down, but it got us home safe and that's all that matters at the end :) Dinner was a real treat and afterwards we tried the famous Riga Black Balsam.

All in all a great experience, check out rates and campaigns here.
