This year we finally managed to arrange a trip to Thailand which was on my bucket list like forever. Our 1 week trip started in Phuket. Although there is so much to explore on the island we looked for a hotel to spend some time in. Therefore direct beachfront location, nice architecture and the beach itself were important factors when choosing a place. Finally we decided to stay at Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort and I can say it was wonderful. The resort is located within the Laguna complex right on Bang Tao Beach.
Let's start with the Check In. After a 12 hour journey we arrived in the early morning at the hotel. The first impression was 'wow'! We just loved the main entrance. We were immediately greeted with fresh flowers and a cold drink, I guess it was cherry juice. The front desk personal asked us to wait in the Lounge area and handled the whole check in process from there. We immediately felt welcome and were so excited to be there.
Rooms
Our room was definitely my favourite part of the hotel. We stayed at the Deluxe Double Room with Lagoon View. The room was very spacious and the bed was like 3 meters wide. But the real highlight was the lounge area with stunning views over the Lagoon. Having my morning coffee here was the perfect way to start the day.
Pool and Beach area
There was a huge pool area surrounded by palm trees. As you know I don't like pools so I skipped that part of the hotel and headed straight to the beach. The hotel is located on Bang Tao Beach which lies on the West coast of the island. The water is clear, sometimes there are some waves but we never had the red flag (means you can't swim in the sea) during our stay. And I can just say the sunset is breath taking. If you are up for a walk the beach is great with a lot of local restaurants to explore.
Around the hotel
In case you want to leave the hotel for a change there are plenty of opportunities. The hotel is located in the so called Laguna complex. Several resorts are located around the connected lagoons. There is a regular boat shuttle to other resorts and the small shopping complex. You should definitely do it once. There is also a bus shuttle to the Laguna Village which is really great. There are many great restaurants and on certain days there is a street food market which I loved loved loved! So as you can see there is a lot going on around the hotel and you don't have drive hours.
As always, all opinions are my own. To book click here.
